27 Oct 2016

Overall, we noted the existence of 17 species, including 12 species of reptiles and five species of amphibians, which represents 34% of Bosnian fauna species of amphibians and reptiles. The most important data was finding of Telescopus fallax, an extremely rare species with only a few known data in B&H. Among the other highlights, we noted several NATURA2000 species: Testudo hermanni, Emys orbicularis, Proteus anguinus, and some endemic taxa: Dalmatolacerta oxycephala (endemic to the Dinaric Karst) so as Hierophis gemonesis and Podacis melisellensis fiumana (as endemic taxa of the Balkan Peninsula).
